This is not the freshest news, but I stumbled across it again, and since it is one of the inspirations for starting this site, I decided to give it some renewed attention.

I really like how it simultaneously manages to be both elegant and the perfect compliment to the Neon Genesis Evangelion fanatic’s sex life.

The Cone: deeper roots than you think

Laying in bed this morning I noticed that the base of my vintage Emerson desk fan looks almost exactly like the Cone.

Coincidence? Probably, but still interesting to consider how design motifs can be carried forward in the most unlikely of hosts, and most probably, without knowledge of their predecessors.
